CODACO Inc. is a high-technology development company that specializes in the design and manufacture of radio frequency (RF) activated bonding solutions for non-metallic materials. With our patented bonding formulations and frequency-agile RF activating hardware, materials such as polypropylene, polyethylene, paperboard, inks, coatings and other polymer-based materials can be instantly bonded, fused, cured or dried. Our customer base includes Fortune 500 companies who have realized our technology's potential to dramatically improve their assembly processes and product value. |

The most important advantage of the CODACO System is its bond-on-demand capability, which separates the application of the bonding material from the actual bonding process. It is a fast, non-contact and environmentally friendly system for rapidly transferring energy to a non-metallic polymeric material that results in a temperature rise of the material. Our bonding solutions have been successfully utilized in both laboratory research and high speed assembly processes. |

An independent company as of February 2002, CODACO was formerly a division of Ameritherm Inc., a world leader in the development, manufacture and application of RF induction heating power supplies and turnkey systems for protective atmosphere heating. Founded in 1986 and privately held, Ameritherm applies its RF expertise to a wide range of metal heating applications. The technology was first pursued in 1997 when Ameritherm customers expressed serious interest. A separate division of the company was created to develop the technology, and by 1999 the basic chemical bonding formulations and activation hardware configurations were established. |

In 2001, CODACO won the prestigious R & D 100 Award. Sponsored by Research & Development Magazine, the annual R & D 100 Competition was established in 1963 to honor the 100 most technologically significant products of the year. Previous award winners include the photo flashcube (1965), the automated teller machine (1973), the Kodak photo CD (1991), the Nicoderm anti-smoking patch (1992) and HDTV (1998). Codaco's application for the award, submitted jointly with Battelle, stressed the ability of the CODACO bonding system to provide a versatile, technically robust and environmentally responsible solution to a previously unanswered demand from manufacturers. |
